I second that

I remember when you were #1 on the radio, #1 on TV and playing and singing all over the country, you always had time for other people. So accommodating. Garth Brooks was (or is) like that too. At his shows, he'd stay behind and sign autographs for 10,000 people until 4 in the morning. I always thought that was what separated him from the other artists out there. On the the contrary, I have a friend who is also a pastor of a large church. I get on him all the time about being too shielded from the masses. He just won't meet with people unless he knows them. But I'm trying to change him to be more like your blog suggests :) Thanks Jimmy!

Wow!

I can't believe it it! I've got Jimmy Smith's personal cell phone #! <g> Seriously, you've ALWAYS been accessible to the "little people", even when you was running with the "big boys!" (And that's one of the few times I could call myself "little"! <g>) I've always appreciated that about you - never "too big for your britches" as your folks would say! Thanks for all you do for His kingdom! Love you, brother! Todd

Untouchable Pastors

I went to a church of about 2500 people and wanted to meet the pastor after and was told he didn't take visitors after service. It made me wonder, is it he didn't take visitors, or just not last minute visitors? I'm sure there was a reason for it, but it came off as pompous. Thanks for your blogs. Awesome stuff.
