You're Never Too Young
I had to give a shout out and write a note about how awesome
it was this week to lead worship with a band made up of members with an average
age of 17 years old. Man, was I skeptical going in. But at the first rehearsal,
I realized God was doing something special in the lives of these kids
It humbled me so much that I had to ask God to forgive me
for stereotyping and for placing labels on people based on anything other than HIS
CALLING IN THEIR LIVES!
These last two weeks made me realize that all things really
are possible through Christ who strengthens us. And these kids proved it. Most
of them have been playing for only a few months – a couple of them, a year or
two at the most – yet their commitment and skill levels far outpace their age
and experience. In fact, I’d give almost anything to have some of the adult
bands I’ve worked with take playing for God with the intention and seriousness
these young adults embrace.
God bless Sarah, Danny, Blake, Amanda and Jenna. There is no
doubt they’ve heard the call of God on their lives and are doing their part to
lead others to know Him better through Praise and Worship. Keep it up. I’m so
proud of you, and I know our Heavenly Father is too! And Jenna… congrats on the scholarship!
